Ponteginori is located in the town of Montecatini Val di Cecina on the right bank of the river Cecina. It comes from the hills of Tenth and Stincano. Its name comes from the bridge over the river Cecina, built between 1831 and 1835 by the Marquis Leopoldo Ginori, to connect the castle Querceto the rolling stock of Val di Cecina.
